CA Black Women’s Organizations

These organizations play vital roles in advocating for and supporting the health, political empowerment, and overall well-being of Black women in California.

 

Black Women Organized for Political Action (BWOPA) - Focuses on increasing political awareness and participation among African American women and advocates for issues that affect Black communities.

 

California Black Women's Health Project (CABWHP) - Dedicated to improving the health of Black women and girls in California through advocacy, education, outreach, and policy change.

 

California Black Women's Collective (CBWC) - A coalition focused on advocacy and policy change, with an emphasis on issues affecting Black women and girls in California.

 

National Coalition of 100 Black Women - California Chapters - An advocacy group focusing on gender equity in health, education, and economic empowerment. California has several local chapters.

California African American Women's Health Legacy - Works to improve the health outcomes of African American women and their families by promoting community health education and resources.

 

Black Women for Wellness (BWW) - Based in Los Angeles, this organization is committed to the health and well-being of Black women and girls through health education, advocacy, and empowerment programs.

 

Sister to Sister 2, Inc. - A non-profit that supports the personal and professional development of Black women, offering resources, mentorship, and educational opportunities.

 

Bay Area Black Women’s Health Project (BABWHP) - An organization focused on reducing health disparities among African American women in the Bay Area.

 

California Black Women’s Caucus - An advocacy organization working to influence public policy and legislation that impacts Black women and families in California.

 

Sacramento Black Women’s Health and Wellness Conference - An annual conference that addresses health disparities and promotes wellness among Black women in the Sacramento area.
